Sursum Corda Cooperative
Text messages
Sursum Corda Cooperative is a private homeschool co-op. It sends a small number of text messages to its own member families, and to nobody else.
The co-op texts from
(888) 630-1844
Worth saving as a contact. Phones file unknown toll-free numbers away, and this is the one you want to arrive on a snowy morning.
Save it to your contactsWho gets them
Only adults in enrolled member families, and only ones who have asked for them. A member signs in to the co-op’s own web app, enters their mobile number in their account settings, confirms it with a code sent to that number, and ticks a box saying:
I agree to receive text messages from Sursum Corda Cooperative about co-op closures and my own turns on the rota. Message frequency varies and is rarely more than a few messages a month. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
Nobody is added by anybody else, and no number is ever bought, sold, rented or shared. Numbers are not collected from this page or from anywhere else on the public internet.

What the co-op sends
- Only two kinds of message: the co-op being called off, and a reminder when it is your turn to open the morning in prayer.
- Never anything about money, never anything about a particular child, and never anything a teacher wrote about one.
- Never between 9pm and 7am, unless it is a co-op day being called off that morning.
- Never to anybody outside the co-op. Numbers are given by co-op members in their own account settings and are never bought, sold or shared.
- Rarely more than a few messages a month.
Stopping them
Reply to any message with one of these. They work whether or not you can get into the app, and they take effect immediately.
- STOP
- No more texts, at once. Everything else in the app carries on as before.
- START
- Turn them back on, if you have stopped them.
- HELP
- A one-line reply saying who is texting you and how to stop.
Members can also turn them off in the app under Settings, which is the same switch by another route.
Cost
The co-op does not charge for this. Message and data rates may apply from your own mobile carrier, as they would for any text.
Your number, and what happens to it
A number is used to send these messages and for nothing else. It is not used for advertising, it is not given to any other organisation, and removing it — by replying STOP, by clearing it in the app, or by asking an administrator — removes it from everything.
Members of the co-op can sign in here. Anyone else who has received a message in error can reply STOP and will receive nothing further.
